Everyone expresses themselves. Whether that be through music, poems, dance, or simply just speaking, we all communicate our thoughts through expression. In my essay, literacy in a form of expression is something I heavily focus on.
Learning some forms of expression are more difficult to some than others. Sometimes understanding other people’s methods of expression can be confusing. Despite the issues that may occur when becoming literate in a form of expression, these expressions can often help define who you are.
In my literacy narrative, I discuss my journey in becoming literate in cultural expression. As an Eritrean, I describe some of the difficult experiences I had in becoming literate, as well as how some of these experiences have helped define who I am today.
