Welcome to my About Me! My name is Ariam Habtemariam and I am currently a sophomore attending Reynoldsburg eSTEM Academy.

Much before my birth, my parents immigrated to the U.S. from a country in East Africa called Eritrea. Growing up, I was taught to stay close to my roots, and this was something I stuck by throughout my life. My father currently works at a warehouse and my mother is an STNA at a nursing home, and I am very grateful for the support they have given me to be where I am now.
I am the youngest of four children: two sisters and one brother. With a relatively large family, I have always been close with my siblings and family has always played a huge role in my life. I look up to my siblings and appreciate their encouragement and help throughout the years.

As a child, I often enjoyed creating and wanted to become an engineer for quite a while, however, when I entered high school, I became more undecided. Some extracurricular activities I participate in as of now are soccer and orchestra, as well as clubs such as Leo Club, Global Scholars, and Robotics. I am currently in the energy career pathway and considering majoring in biomedical engineering, however, this is likely subjective to change.
As I stated earlier, I always grew up close to my roots. Cultural identity is something I value very much, and taking pride in who you are is something I have always advocated. In this blog, topics regarding cultural and racial pride is a heavy focus for me, as it is something I can relate to very much.
